House rules
- Turns cycle Red, Blue, Green. Who moves first is drawn at random when the game starts. Each player's half is 8 files by 4 ranks.
- Moving straight ahead past your 4th rank, files a to d lead into one neighbor's half and files e to h into the other's.
- A diagonal that passes through the center point continues to the directly opposite square.
- Pieces otherwise move as in standard chess, following the board's bends. Castling is allowed; en passant is not.
- Pawns head for the center, then toward the back rank of the half they enter. A pawn promotes to a queen on any opponent's back rank.
- You may never leave your king attacked by either opponent.
- The first player to checkmate either opponent wins the game outright. If your move leaves a player mated by the other opponent's pieces, that opponent wins.
- If the player to move has no legal move and is not in check, the game is a draw.
- A player who resigns is out, and their pieces stay on the board in gray. The last player standing wins.
- All three seats must be filled, by people or computers, before the game can start. Computers play from the host's browser.
